ABOUT 

We know that 2018 is not 1950. People who finish college, marry their high school sweetheart and then have babies are the minority and not the norm anymore.  (But if that's you, I adore you too!) 

There are so many different possible equations that equal a happy family and that's a-okay by us. We think its beautiful. 

I want to capture moments for you that you will look back on for the rest of your life and cherish. I want for when you look back on those moments.. to laugh because that sweet angel cheesing so hard for the camera only smiled once the entire session and bless Logan's heart, she caught it. But she also caught the eye roll, tongue poke and skinned knees that you will miss terribly when your baby is no longer a baby, even if you sigh at them right now in exasperation.

I want to be there on your wedding day. To capture the small details and the big kiss. To give you memories to look back on when telling the story without them just won't do the magic justice. To give you moments you can revisit for the rest of your life. 

Sharing yourself and family with me and trusting me to do their God-given uniqueness justice is a privilege and the highest honor. I take it very seriously. I will not shove a camera in your face two minutes after meeting you and politely ask you to say, "Cheese" while also checking my watch. I will not compare you to anyone or any other shoot, bring any biases, or show you a perfect family off a Pinterest app and say,"Here, be them!" If your child decides to cross his eyes the entire shoot or you get one of those, "My baby hasn't slept in three days," breakouts.. no one ever has to know. Your secrets are safe with me.

My name is Logan. I want to be your photographer, I want you to book with The Blessed Mitten Photography. I want you to know that the woman behind the lens thinks you're incredible and appreciates every perceived flaw you think you have. I want you to just be you, because to me.. that is so much more than enough.

An "About Me" can be tough. When I see others.. they seem to have it all together. Everything is clean, predictable and covered in glitter.

-But there is no glitter in any unintended place, HOW do they do that?-

I suppose mine was that way too once.. But the posed and pretty is not all I want to show you.

I am a business owner, but I am also a full time student at WMU pursuing a career in licensed family counseling, a mother of a three-year-old and two-month-old (as well as three horses, one dog, 5 barn cats, and seasonal chickens) and I seem to always have an overflowing plate. Which, luckily, is the way I like it. 

My baby pooped during her photo shoot too. 

She has craftily selected the worst moments to take her pants off, steal a booger or have a stage five meltdown.

I was a single mom for a long time struggling to make ends meet, juggling two jobs and some serious heartbreak. 

Our home is not going to be featured on HGTV, we don't know what modgepogde (*hodgepodge? Seriously, what is that stuff?) is.

We  eat processed foods, carbs and happy meals.

*But also sometimes carrots and avocados, we strive for balance-ish around here. 

And hey, I happen to think we are doing pretty darn good.
